Thanksgiving Outreach

In 1992, Hands of Luke Medical Ministries started feeding underprivileged people in the colonias of Juarez during Thanksgiving weekend. These are poverty-stricken areas without so much as running water and electricity. The ministry provides the children of God with a Thanksgiving meal starting with turkey, dressing, vegetables and a roll and ending with pie and the sweet love of Jesus Christ. The goal the first year was to feed 1,000 people which was easily surpassed by feeding a total of 1,300 adults and children. The number has steadily increased each year. In 1999, over 10,700 Thanksgiving meals were served.
